Eva works as a privacy advisor in the area of data protection and IT security. She assists leading professionals and companies to prevent risks and address any issues connected with data privacy legislation including GDPR , by means of information technologies, cloud applications, mobile and online services, IO T and artificial intelligence. She studied law at Charles University in Prague and international law at the University of Ottawa in Canada, and then as a Consul, she led the Consular Section of the Czech Embassy. Once back in the Czech Republic, she worked as the Executive of the Central European legal division of the international companies Kimberly-Clark and Mondelēz (Kraft Foods).

Eva gets involved any time law intersects with data protection and cyber security. She works as data privacy consultant and address issues that standard in-house IT and legal experts cannot cover due to the limits of their professional perspective. She helps her clients and their legal and other experts comply with, among other issues, the new GDPR legislation that has substantially changed the rules of personal data protection from May 2018 and introduced massive penalties for breaching them. Eva is assisting different organizations including the governments, blockchain, technology startups and the artificial intelligence projects with respect to providing the advisory services to ensure their full compliance with various data privacy and IT security regulations. She is a frequent speaker at the international data privacy and blockchain conferences.

About the training

GDPR compliance can be complex, costly and disruptive as organisations invest the time and resources needed to update systems and processes to the security level the regulations require. However, data protection is now an essential consideration for an effective regulatory compliance framework, particularly for those within the GDPR's extensive reach.

Many companies have found it challenging to implement the necessary systems and processes to manage the immense amounts of data collected, track it from creation to destruction, and manage the storage of such data according to specific criteria in between. Regardless, failure to follow stringent data privacy rules will result in fines based on the severity of the breach, the character of the infringement, and the organisation's compliance protocol. The most egregious offenders will face hefty fines up to 20 million Euro or 4% of their annual revenue.

At a minimum, organisations should find themselves investing more in overall data security resources, additional staff or upgraded technology. However, to avoid risking fines all organisations handling the personal data of European citizens or residents must take active steps to ensure complete compliance.

EU regulators indicate they plan on actively enforcing GDPR compliance. Dedicate time to understand what you need to do in order to become compliant. Avoid substantial fines; be prepared to offer evidence of data protection processes and accountability, as well as transparency with the regulators. This training will help you understand what you need to do in order to ensure your business and you are complaint sooner, rather than later.
